Iran: A Teacher and Student Workshop

How does Iran figure into your teaching? What are its historical and literary links to the curriculum? What overarching questions do students have about contemporary Iran? Come spend a very special day with Voices [Education Project] as we explore answers to these questions and many more. We want to assemble a group of teachers and students to listen to and dialogue with Iranian poets, writers, filmmakers, musicians and historians as we delve into what we need to know about past and present Iran.
Presenters for the day long workshop include: political scientist, Nader Nazemi, human rights lawyer Arzoo Osanloo, film producer and photographer, Abdi Sami and poet Sholeh Wolpe. Wolpe will be reading her own works and the works of the acclaimed Persian poet Forugh Farrokhzad. A special musical presentation will be made by the Kamand Ensemble. You can register for the event on our website.
Come experience an interactive day of teaching and learning.
