The Warrior Poets

The Vietnam War is often thought of as a war that was fought between the Vietnamese and the United States, and prior to the U.S., the French. However, country and troop participation extended beyond these countries. The Republic of Vietnam, known at the time as South Vietnam, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, the Philippines and Thailand fought against the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, known as North Vietnam, the People’s Liberation Armed Forces in South Vietnam called the Viet Cong, the Khmer Rouge (guerrilla forces in Cambodia) and the Pathet Lao (guerrilla forces in Laos).

Poetry in this section includes contributions by Australian, New Zealand, Vietnamese, and United States poets.
